People’s Postcode Lottery

The People’s Postcode Lottery has announced the launch of its Dream Fund.  Made possible by the on-going support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, the Dream Fund is now in its fourth year and has so far invested over £1 million in innovative schemes in Scotland and the North West of England.  This is the first year the fund has been open to applicants across Great Britain, with the level of support rising from £100,000 to £250,000. The total available is £500,000 over the next two years and registered charities and community organisations can apply for up to £250,000 to deliver a new and innovative projects under the themes of encouraging healthy living, social enterprise and environmental sustainability.    Previous projects funded include a grant of £98,100 to produce a London Underground-style map of the 70 miles of off-street cycle ways and paths that reach right into Edinburgh city centre, with the aim of increasing the number of people walking and cycling for commuting and recreation; and a grant of £65,200 to support a community food growing project.  The deadline for applications is the 20th September 2013….
