WREN – Important Eligibility news for community projects in the north of Buckinghamshire

WREN is a not-for-profit business that helps benefit the lives of people who live close to landfill sites by awarding grants of up to £50,000 for community, conservation and  heritage projects.

Projects in Buckinghamshire have to be within 10 miles of the landfill sites at Bletchley or Calvert in order to be considered. This means that parts of the very north of the County  i.e Olney miss out because they are outside this radius. However such projects have been able to get landfill  funding in the past  because they are within 10 miles of a Bedfordshire site called Stewartby . This makes them eligible with the actual funds coming from the Bletchley operation.

We have heard that the Stewartby site will be closing shortly with the last applications being considered around  May 2012, therefore projects in the north of the county that will be effected by this should get their applications in ASAP.
